One KAPPA! Creating Inspiration: A Call To Service

JB McGinnis - Polemarch

On the behalf of the 17th Administration and the Board of Directors of the Arlington-Grand Prairie Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Inc. I welcome you to our newly revised website. It is an honor to have you observe AGP serving Our Great Community!

Our Annual Metroplex Beautillion Program serves as the Rock of our chapter and is second to none! Our undergraduate chapter, The University of Texas at Arlington (Iota Alpha) continues to prosper and grow, producing quality Kappa Men. As Kappa Alpha Psi Inc. approaches its 100th year of existence, we will continue to “Create Inspiration” and answer the “Call” to serve those in need.

2010 will be an exciting year at AGP and we invite all Brothers looking for a home to make AGP the road back to Kappa.

ONE KAPPA! ONE AGP!

In the beginning....

The initial vision of Arlington-Grand Prairie Alumni Chapter started around September 1985. Four instrumental brothers, Wallace “ Blinky “ Williams, Reginald Major, Derek Brown, and Duane Braxton, formed an interest group.

Their hard work and perseverance paid off as they were able to formulate the interest of the following 22 Brothers: Gary Bailey, Raymond Dukes, Kelvin Ellison, Londell Fisher*, Richard Garling, Gary Lewis, Joseph W. Loftin, Jr., Stanley Manners, Richard Massie, Chris Middleton, Ross Moore, Clifton Odom, Odus Oglesby, Lenzy Pouncey, Jr., William C. Sells, Martin L. Thomas, Clifton Walker, Jeffrey Wilborn, Byron K. Williams, Bruce A. Williams, and Leroy Williams.

AGP Kappa League kicks off

The AGP Guide Right Foundation Kappa League Program, under the direction of Brother Orlando Robinson, is making great strides as they kicked off their community service projects. The group donated shoes to to help the victims in Haiti. "There are thousands of people that may need shoes, whoever is fortunate enough to receive a pair of the shoes we are sending to Haiti will be happy and that makes a difference in peoples lives" says Brother Robinson.

Brothers in the spotlight

AGP was well represented at the Alpha Xi Omega of Alpha Kappa Alpha Founders' Day Lunch. The guest speaker for the event was our own 31st Grand Polemarch - Dwayne M. Murray, Esq., who inspired the crowd of over 900 with a message of service and unity for all BGLO's. Only as Kappa Men can do, the ladies of AKA were presented with pink roses, which was the highlight of the day.
